Frank Field MP visits 9th Birkenhead to see how we Prepare Better Futures

MP for Birkenhead Frank Field visited our newest Scout Troop at the 9th Birkenhead who have only been meeting for 1 term to talk to Young People and Adult Volunteers about what he gets invovled with being an MP and answering some great questions about Brexit and the future for Britain after life in the EU.

Matt Jones, District Commissioner, attended the Troop night and said "We know that in The Scouts we teach Young People key Skills For Life and part of this means that our Young People are 26% more likely to vote in a general election. This means that by giving our Scouts the chance to meet and engage with Members of Parliment they can have a real influence in the future of our Country and can help inspire the next generation of voters and maybe even MPs!"

Matt continued to say that "Scouts from the Troop were able to engage and ask difficult questions about the process of leaving the EU and how Parliment works in association with our Monarchy to govern the UK. Frank seemed incrediby impressed with the excellent knowledge and interrogation questioning skills of the Scouts in the Troop."

78% of Scouts said that becasue of thier experiecnes with us they felt a greater sense of responsibility to their local community which is another great reason for us to engage with local MPs and Councillors to help shape Communities across Birkenhead and the Wirral.

At Birkenhead Scouts we really do Change Lives and Change Communities.
